Ghana's Cultural and Creative Arts Sector Gets a Boost with New Advisory Board

Accra, Ghana – 23 July, 2025 – The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA) has taken a significant step towards enhancing policy direction and stakeholder engagement with the inauguration of its Ministerial Advisory Board. The ceremony, held on July 22, 2025, at the Ministry's Conference Room in Accra, brought together a diverse group of professionals and institutional representatives tasked with steering the sector forward.

 

In a bid to strengthen leadership across the Ministry, Abla Dzifa Gomashie who’s the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts announced key appointments, including;

- Director for Culture: Mr. Divine Owusu Ansah

- Director for Tourism: Dr. Tamakloe

- Director for Creative Arts: To be named shortly

 

The newly inaugurated Advisory Board comprises:

- Government Representatives:

    - Yussif Issaka Jajah: Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts

    - Joseph Kwasi Amoah: Chief Director, MoTCCA

    - Comfort Aki Dede Ashiagbor: Ministry of Education

    - Noah Tumfo: Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry

    - Richard Gyasi: Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development

    - Kwasi Adu: Ministry of Finance

- Industry Experts:

    - Ahuma Bosco Ocansey: Ghana Culture Forum

    - Dr. Kwasi Eyison: Ghana Tourism Federation

    - Naa Juyoo Oshedu Woblor Jueteer Tsofayelor: Cultural advocate and queen mother

 

Abla Dzifa Gomashie emphasized the board's crucial role in ensuring her Ministry's decisions and strategies align with sound policy and legal frameworks. She expressed confidence in the board's capacity to shape the national tourism, culture, and creative arts agenda with impact, driving growth and contributing meaningfully to national development.
