Ghana's Ambassador to Brazil Connects with Ghanaian Community: A Spotlight Report

On a warm evening in São Paulo, Ghana's Ambassador to Brazil, H.E. Nii Amasah Namoale, met with the Ghanaian community in Brazil. The meeting was a significant moment for the Ambassador to introduce himself, listen to the concerns of Ghanaians living in Brazil, and build a bond of cooperation that reflects the unity and pride of their beloved country.

In his address, Ambassador Namoale emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among Ghanaians living in Brazil. He stated that his mandate as Ambassador is clear: to support President John Dramani Mahama's Resetting Agenda, which seeks to transform the socio-economic fabric of Ghana and reposition the nation for sustainable growth and development. The Ambassador highlighted the government's recognition of the enormous contributions of Ghanaians living abroad, officially designating the Ghanaian diaspora as the 17th Region of Ghana.

Diaspora Engagement Policy

The Ambassador announced that the government has developed a Diaspora Engagement Policy to guide the Embassy's interactions with Ghanaians living in Brazil and beyond. The policy aims to promote engagement, investment, and cooperation between the government and the diaspora community. The Ambassador invited the community to review the policy and provide input on its implementation.

Open Door Policy

Ambassador Namoale assured the community that his doors are always open and encouraged Ghanaians to reach out to him and the Embassy whenever the need arises. He emphasized that he stands before them not as an Ambassador for some, but as an Ambassador for all Ghanaians living in Brazil, regardless of political affiliation, background, or belief.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the Ambassador to listen to the concerns and suggestions of the community. He encouraged Ghanaians to continue being law-abiding residents, good neighbors, and worthy representatives of Ghana in Brazil. The Ambassador also commended the community for their dedication to the image of Ghana and encouraged them to uphold the values of unity, hard work, and patriotism.
