Ghana, Tanzania crowned CAF African Schools Football Championship champions

Accra, Ghana - 27 April, 2025 - In a thrilling conclusion to the CAF African Schools Football Championship Continental Finals, Ghana's Under-15 Girls team and Tanzania's Under-15 Boys team emerged as champions in their respective categories.
The tournament, held at the University of Ghana from April 23 to 26, 2025, brought together top young talents from across Africa, showcasing excellence and unity through football.
Ghana's U-15 Girls made history with a 2-0 victory over Uganda in the final, marking their debut title in the competition. The team was buoyed by an electrified home crowd, and their win highlights the growing talent in Ghanaian youth football.
In the boys' category, Tanzania successfully defended their title after a dramatic penalty shootout win over Senegal, following a 0-0 stalemate in regular time. Ghana's U-15 Boys team secured a podium finish, defeating Uganda in the third-place playoff.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama attended the closing ceremony, handing over the titles to the winning teams. The tournament forms a crucial part of Dr. Motsepe's vision to make African football globally competitive.
Individual awards were also presented, with Ghana's Jennifer Awuku named Player of the Tournament in the girls' category, while Tanzania's Rajabu Manyelezi won the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award in the boys' category.
