Ghana FA Boss Kurt Okraku Appointed CAF Vice President

Accra, Ghana - 27 April, 2025 - In a significant reshuffle at the Confederation of African Football (CAF), President Kurt Okraku of the Ghana Football Association and Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Morocco Football Federation, have been appointed as the 1st and 2nd Vice-Presidents of CAF, respectively.

The appointments were made at the CAF Executive Committee meeting held in Accra on April 26, 2025.

The new leadership structure positions Okraku and Lekjaa to play key roles in shaping the future of African football. Okraku, known for his exemplary leadership in West Africa, will contribute to major policy decisions and initiatives that will impact the continent's football landscape.

Other notable appointments include Pierre-Alain Mounguengui (Gabon) as the 3rd Vice President, Bestine Kazadi Ditabala (Democratic Republic of Congo) as the 4th Vice President, and Feizal Sidat (Mozambique) as the 5th Vice President. Additionally, several committee heads and members were appointed, including Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon) as the President of the CAF Technical and Development Committee.

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe expressed gratitude to the outgoing Vice-Presidents for their contributions and leadership during their tenure, welcoming the new leadership team to drive African football forward.

The newly appointed CAF Vice Presidents are:

  • CAF First Vice President: Fouzi Lekjaa (Morocco)
  • CAF Second Vice President: Kurt Okraku (Ghana)
  • CAF Third Vice President: Pierre-Alain Mounguengui (Gabon)
  • CAF Fourth Vice President: Ms Bestine Kazadi Ditabala (Democratic Republic of Congo)
  • CAF Fifth Vice President: Feizal Sidat (Mozambique)

Additionally, Dr Motsepe announced that Yacine Idriss Diallo, President of Fédération Ivoirienne de football (“FIF”), has been co-opted onto the CAF Executive Committee. The CAF Executive Committee also approved the names to fill vacant positions on several CAF Committees.

Organizing Committee for the African Nations Championship (“CHAN”):

  • President: Mr Pierre-Alain Mounguengui (Gabon)

CAF Technical and Development Committee:

  • President: Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon)
  • Vice President: Mr Malouche Belhassen (Tunisia)

CAF Medical Committee:

  • President: Dr. Mohammed Bouya (Mauritania)
  • Vice President: Dr. Thulani Ngwenya (South Africa)
