Ghana Sees Third Consecutive Drop in Petrol, Diesel Prices

Accra, Ghana - 18 March, 2025 - Motorists in Ghana can celebrate a rare streak of good fortune as fuel prices have dropped for the third consecutive time, bringing much-needed relief to consumers and businesses alike.
The latest price adjustment, led by Total Energies, has seen petrol and diesel prices fall from GHS15.79 per liter to GHS15.49 per liter, marking a welcome trend in the country's energy market.
The reduction in fuel prices is attributed to the falling cost of crude oil on the international market, coupled with the relative stability of the Ghanaian cedi against the US dollar. Industry experts predict that other oil marketing companies will follow suit, passing on the savings to consumers.
According to the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMC), global crude oil prices have decreased by 4.16%, from $75.49 per barrel to $71.94 per barrel. This decline is largely due to concerns over the impact of escalating trade tensions on global economic growth and oil demand.
The drop in fuel prices is expected to bring relief to motorists and businesses, who have been grappling with high energy costs in recent months.
