Ghana Climbs to 76th in Latest FIFA Rankings

Accra, Ghana - 03 April, 2025 - Ghana's Black Stars have made a notable leap in the latest FIFA rankings, climbing one spot to 76th globally, their first upward movement since July 2024.
This improvement comes on the heels of the team's successful start to the 2025 calendar, with victories over Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
The wins marked Ghana's first since their triumph over the Central African Republic in June, and have propelled them above Israel, who dropped two places in the rankings. Despite this progress, Ghana's position in the continental rankings remains unchanged, with the team sitting 14th in Africa.
Otto Addo, the Black Stars' head coach, will be looking to build on this momentum when the team returns to action later this year. Ghana's national team has a rich history, having qualified for four FIFA World Cup tournaments and winning the Africa Cup of Nations four times.
The team's recent success has been a welcome boost for Ghanaian football fans, who will be hoping to see their team continue to rise through the ranks. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers underway, Ghana will be looking to secure their spot in the tournament and make a strong showing on the global stage.
