GH¢78m Embezzlement: Former Buffer Stock CEO Hits Back at Corruption Allegations

Accra ,October 22,2025 - Hanan Abdul-Wahab has fired back at Attorney-General Dominic Ayine's corruption allegations, labelling them "false and damaging". The former Buffer Stock CEO insists he's done nothing wrong and is preparing to clear his name in court.

Ayine had accused Abdul-Wahab and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, of siphoning GH¢40 million from the School Feeding Programme between 2017 and 2024. The funds were allegedly channelled through seven companies, sparking outrage and calls for accountability.

But Abdul-Wahab is fighting back, instructing his lawyers to explore legal options and vowing to present his side of the story in court. "I look forward to the opportunity to present my side and to have my day in court, where I am confident that the truth will be made clear," he said.

The allegations have sent shockwaves through Ghana's government institutions, with Ayine announcing plans to charge Abdul-Wahab and his wife with stealing, conspiracy, and money laundering.

Abdul-Wahab and his wife are accused of acquiring luxury properties, including a five-bedroom Chain Homes house worth US$1.6 million, a three-bedroom Cantonments house worth US$600,000, a 17-bedroom Tamale hotel worth US$250,000, a Dzorwulu bungalow worth GHS4.1 million, and multiple plots and commercial properties in Accra, Tamale, and elsewhere.

The Attorney-General's office has frozen Abdul-Wahab's assets, including a GHS10 million fixed deposit, vehicles, and luxury handbags.
