GEPA CEO Meets Trade Minister to Boost Ghana's Export Development Agenda

Accra, Ghana - 18 Feb, 2025 - Ghana's export sector is poised for significant growth, following a courtesy visit by the CEO of Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur, Esq., to the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare.

The meeting, which aimed to foster a strong working relationship, centered on the President's Accelerated Export Development Agenda, with GEPA playing a crucial role in driving its success. Minister Ofosu-Adjare reaffirmed her commitment to supporting GEPA, emphasizing that a thriving export sector is essential for a stronger economy.

GEPA has been working tirelessly to diversify Ghana's export base, moving beyond traditional products like gold and cocoa beans. Under the leadership of Dr. Afua Asabea Asare, GEPA has achieved significant growth in non-traditional exports, recording $3.94 billion in earnings in 2023.

The authority's efforts have been focused on supporting Ghanaian companies to add value to agricultural raw materials and manufacturing sectors. GEPA has also been promoting public-private partnership investments in warehouse facilities to make the distribution of made-in-Ghana products easier.

The (GEPA CEO was joined on the visit by a delegation of senior officials, including Mr. Khalifa Banda, Director of Services and Manufactures, Mrs. Nelly Spio-Abaidoo, Director of Industrial Arts and Craft, and Mr. Chris Amponsah Sackey, Head of Public Relations.
