Five Citizens Honored with Diplomatic Passports for Global Impact
Accra ,Ghana – September 17,2025 - The Mahama administration has recognized the international influence and contributions of five prominent citizens by presenting them with diplomatic passports.
The honor was bestowed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, at the launch of the 2025 Diaspora Summit in Accra on September 17.
The five distinguished citizens honored with diplomatic passports are celebrated travel vlogger and YouTuber Wode Maya who has being showcasing African destinations, entrepreneurship, and cultural experiences ,Grammy-nominated reggae artist and activist Rocky Dawuni.
Broadcaster and media entrepreneur , Anita Erskine for promoting women's empowerment, youth development, and pan-African dialogue ,Ibrahim Mahama a renowned contemporary visual artist creating large-scale installations that explore themes of labor, history, and identity and Dentaa Amoateng MBE ;a British-Ghanaian entrepreneur and founder of the GUBA Awards, for fostering stronger connections between Ghana and its diaspora.
The diplomatic passports are granted under the authority conferred on the Foreign Minister by NLCD 155, the Passports and Travel Certificate Decree of 1967. This honor acknowledges the recipients' consistent efforts in raising Ghana's profile internationally.
"Congratulations; keep bringing Ghana renown," Ablakwa wrote in a Facebook post announcing the initiative.
