Fire Rips Through Kwadaso SDA Nursing College Hostel, Destroys Belongings of Over 150 Students
Kwadaso, Ashanti Region, Ghana - 21 April, 2025 - A devastating fire outbreak ripped through the top floor of a two-storey hostel at the Kwadaso SDA Nursing and Midwifery Training College in the Ashanti Region, destroying the belongings of over 150 students.
The incident occurred on Sunday, April 20, 2025, around 5 p.m.
The Ghana National Fire Service's swift intervention prevented the fire from spreading to the ground floor, averting a potentially larger disaster. Luckily, no one was hurt, partly because some students were on Easter break.
The fire, however, destroyed valuable possessions, including laptops, mattresses, provisions, and stationery. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and officials from the Ghana National Fire Service have launched an investigation to determine the origin of the blaze.
