Election 2024: All ballot papers except Northern, Bono, and Bono East regions have been deployed - EC
Ghana is gearing up for a successful election, with the Electoral Commission (EC) assuring that all necessary materials are being deployed across the country. The EC has confirmed that ballot papers have been sent to 13 regions, with the remaining three regions set to receive theirs by the end of the day.
The commission has also announced that biometric verification devices will be deployed by the end of the weekend, ensuring that the electoral process is secure and transparent.
In a meeting with the National Elections Security Taskforce, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa emphasized the commission's readiness for the polls.
“As we speak, all our registers have been prepared, and they have been disseminated across the country. We are also near completion with our ballots for the presidential and parliamentary polls.
“All the ballots, except the Northern, Bono, and Bono East regions, have been disseminated to our police armouries across the country. I am well aware that the ballot papers for these regions will be disseminated to the police armouries this afternoon,'' she stated.
The head of the National Election Security Taskforce, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, also assured the public of the security agencies' commitment to ensuring a peaceful election. "We will protect every Ghanaian and every stakeholder in this election to ensure that the election is executed to the benefit of Ghanaians to ensure peace," he said.
