Ghana's Electoral Commission (EC) has confirmed its readiness to conduct the Special Voting Exercise on Monday, December 2, 2024. This exercise will take place at 276 designated voting centers across the country and is reserved for specific groups of registered voters, including journalists and security personnel, who will be engaged in election-related duties on December 7.

According to the EC, all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth exercise. The commission has also reported that 95% of ballot papers have been distributed, with biometric verification machines en route to district offices for deployment on election day.

During an interaction with the National Security Task Force, chaired by Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akufo-Dampare, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa confirmed that all arrangements were in place for a smooth exercise on Monday.

The Special Voting Exercise is a critical component of Ghana's electoral process, allowing essential personnel to cast their votes ahead of the general election. With just days to go before the exercise, the EC has reassured the public of its commitment to a free, fair, and transparent electoral process.
