Accra , Ghana – October 9,2025 - In a significant move to bolster Ghana's diplomatic presence globally, President Mahama has appointed 18 new Deputy Heads of Missions to various countries. The appointments, announced in a letter from the Office of the President, are part of a broad reorganization of the nation's diplomatic corps aimed at strengthening Ghana's diplomatic engagements and representation abroad.

The newly appointed Deputy Heads of Missions include Dr. Palmer Appiah-Gyan to the Federal Republic of Germany, Francisca Patoah Gyarko to the Swiss Federation, Ben Dotsei Malor to the United States of America, Harry Zevon, Ph.D. to China, General Thomas Oppong-Peprah to Canada, Sulemana Ibun Iddrissu to India, Aquinas Quansah to the United Kingdom, George Harrison to the Republic of Korea, Jamilatu Amadu to the United Arab Emirates, Emmanuel Netsey-Afedo to the Netherlands, Sophia Karen Edem Ackuaku to Italy, Francis Thalamus Doe to Japan, Sanni Jajah to Saudi Arabia, Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomor to Türkiye, Emmanuel Kamban Panyan to Russia, Alhaji Mohammed Seidu Issah Abah Mohammed Ibn Abass to South Africa, Rev. Isaac Clive Mould, Ph.D. to Denmark, and an additional posting to Egypt.

The appointments are part of President Mahama's effort to strengthen Ghana's diplomatic engagements and representation abroad. The letter from the Office of the President noted that the appointments are aimed at enhancing Ghana's diplomatic presence globally and promoting the country's interests abroad.

The appointments take immediate effect, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to take immediate steps to facilitate the process. The letter, copied to the Vice President and Chief of Staff at Jubilee House, emphasized the President's "highest regards" to the Foreign Minister as preparations begin for the new deputies to assume duty.

The appointments are expected to bring fresh perspectives and new ideas to Ghana's diplomatic missions abroad.
