Blay Nyameke Launches GHS10m Fund to Boost Education in Sekondi
Sekondi, Western Region - 04 May, 2025 - Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Blay Nyameke Armah has unveiled a GHS10 million educational initiative aimed at tackling the growing number of school dropouts in his constituency.
The Sekondi Educational Fund will provide free buses and educational materials to all students in the area, with the goal of eliminating transportation and learning material challenges that often force students out of school.
According to the MP, the initiative is a response to the pressing needs of students in Sekondi, many of whom struggle to access education due to financial constraints. By providing free buses, the fund aims to ensure that students can commute to school safely and affordably, while the provision of educational materials will help to alleviate the burden of textbook costs.
The MP had already begun distributing free books to hundreds of students across Sekondi prior to the launch of the fund, and plans to broaden the impact of the initiative are underway.
The distribution of free buses and books is set to begin in the last quarter of the year, and the MP has emphasized that his goal is to ensure that lack of access to educational resources never becomes a barrier to education for any child in Sekondi.
