Asantehene Hails Progress of Heal Komfo Anokye Project After Facility Tour

Kumasi, Ghana - 02 Feb, 2025 - The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has praised the progress of the Heal Komfo Anokye project after a recent tour of the facility.

The project, launched in November 2023, aims to renovate the over 70-year-old Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, which serves more than 12 regions in Ghana.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Heal Komfo Anokye Project after inspecting the facility on January 31, 2025.

Phase One of the project, which comprises two floors of Block A, is now 95% complete, with only the installation of an oxygen bedhead remaining. The Asantehene's satisfaction with the progress is a significant boost to the project, which has already received significant donations, including over $4 million raised in just six months.

The project's chairman, Samuel Adu-Boakye, commended contributors and appealed for continued financial support to ensure the project's successful completion. With the completion of Phase One, patients currently housed in the makeshift ward will soon be relocated, making way for the commencement of Phase Two.

“We are privileged to say that a lot of people have donated. For us to be able to raise close to 4 million dollars in about six months is something that is worthy to commend.

“All the donations have come a long way to support us however, what is left is more so we will therefore use this opportunity to continuously appeal to all and sundry for those that were skeptical about the use of the money at least you have seen the quality of work that has been done,'' he added.
