Accra High Court adjourns Apea-Dankwah's Injunction application
Presidential aspirant, Samuel Apea-Dankwah

Accra, Ghana - October 28, 2024 - The Accra High Court has rescheduled the hearing of disqualified presidential aspirant Samuel Apea-Dankwah's injunction application to Thursday, October 31. Apea-Dankwah is seeking a judicial review to overturn his disqualification by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Apea-Dankwah's lawyers requested the adjournment to Thursday, citing the need for additional time to respond to an opposition motion filed by the EC. Initially, the court suggested reconvening on Tuesday, but ultimately agreed to the Thursday adjournment.

Background of the Case

Apea-Dankwah was disqualified by the EC, prompting him to seek a judicial review. Ahead of the main case, he requested the court to halt all EC activities related to the upcoming presidential election.

New Developments

In an interview with Citi FM after the ruling, Apea-Dankwah revealed his team has filed a request for the EC to disclose documentation detailing his disqualification criteria and process.
