"We won’t sleep for 48hrs until all ballots have been counted’ – Mahama assures supporters

The 2024 flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama urged party members to be watchful till the Electoral Commission (EC) counts all ballots in the 2024 general elections.

 Speaking at the NDC's campaign launch in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, the former president encouraged supporters to pledge to secure ballot boxes on Election Day.

He highlighted the significance of monitoring every part of the electoral process to avoid potential rigging in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The former president reassured Ghanaians, pushing them to vote in large numbers for him and trust the party to secure their ballots.

He emphasized that the NDC has taken adequate precautions to guarantee that the will of the Ghanaian people is not subverted.

Mr Mahama also encouraged the NDC faithful to safeguard every vote to ensure a fair election actively.

“Everybody needs to prepare, we’re not going to sleep for 48 hours until all the ballots have been counted. None of us is going to sleep for 48 hours until all the ballots have been counted.”

“And I wish to assure all Ghanaians who intend to vote for the NDC, I can promise you that we will protect every single vote."

“We have had our issue with the Electoral Commission, but we’re prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt,” he noted.
