Vote out NPP to end impunity and hardship - Mahama
Upper West region, Ghana - October 13, 2024 - John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Ghanaians to reject the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
Addressing rallies in Nadowli and Wichaw as part of his Upper West region campaign tour, Mahama criticized the NPP-led government for plunging Ghana into economic crisis through corruption and mismanagement.
Mahama emphasized that re-electing the NPP would endorse impunity and economic hardship. He argued that the current administration has squandered state resources, leaving Ghana with a debt-to-GDP ratio of 104% and inflation above 20%. The NDC's manifesto promises to reset Ghana's economy through investments in agriculture, manufacturing, and the creative economy, boosting business development and job creation.
Mahama's campaign focuses on accountability, transparency, and responsive governance. He vowed to deploy his "Operation Recover All Loot" (ORAL) strategy to recover misappropriated state funds and respect the rights and freedoms of citizens.
“Any person who votes for NPP in this election is voting for impunity. Encouraging them to do what they have done to the citizens, and the pain they have inflicted on the citizens. What you are saying is you don’t find anything wrong with it.
“You vote for NPP because you don’t see anything wrong with how they have mismanaged this economy. You know, the best message that Ghanaians can send not only to the NPP, but to the rest of the world is that they have done enough damage, and it is time for them to go into opposition and go and reflect on the damage that they have done to this country, he added.
Today, October 13, marks day two of Mahama's Upper West region tour, with scheduled visits to Funsi, Nabulo, Tumu, and Gwollu.
