Police deny pursuing NDC's Malik Basintale, debunk social media rumors

Accra, Ghana - The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has issued a statement dismissing allegations that it has declared Malik Basintale, Deputy Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), wanted.

Rumors circulating on social media suggested that Basintale was being pursued by law enforcement, but the police have categorically denied these claims.

In a statement released on Thursday, the GPS urged the public to disregard the false information and treat it with contempt.

"We wish to categorically state that the claim is false," the statement read.

The police's swift response aims to quell speculation and reassure the public that no such pursuit is underway.
