Pastors, Imams in Kumasi march for peace ahead of 2024 Elections
Kumasi, Ghana - In a show of unity and commitment to peace, religious leaders comprising pastors and imams took to the streets of Kumasi on Tuesday, October 1, to intensify calls for peaceful presidential and parliamentary elections in 2024.
The march, which navigated through the principal streets of the metropolis, aimed to promote tranquility before, during, and after the elections.
The religious leaders also engaged with officials of the Electoral Commission (EC), urging them to remain steadfast in their duties as the electoral management body.
This meeting underscored the importance of the EC's role in ensuring the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.
The march coincided with a historic Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting, where the EC convened with political parties and other interest groups to address concerns surrounding the voters' register.
This convergence of events highlights the collective effort to safeguard the democratic process and prevent potential conflicts.
