BREAKING!!! ORAL Committee will not receive salaries, per-diems - Ablakwa
Ghana's newly established Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) committee has made a bold commitment to serve the nation without any financial compensation.
This dedicated team, led by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has pledged to work tirelessly without receiving salaries, allowances, or any other form of payment.
''The ORAL Team held its first meeting at 2pm today and has resolved to work gratis. We shall not be receiving salaries, allowances, per-diems or fuel coupons. None of our activities will come at a cost to the taxpayer. We continue to count on your support, let’s do this for God and Country,'' Ablakwa posted on social media on Wednesday Dec 18, 2024.
The ORAL committee's primary objective is to recover looted state resources, ensuring that those responsible for corruption are held accountable. This initiative is part of President-elect John Mahama's comprehensive strategy to restore public trust in the public sector and enforce strict accountability measures.
Comprising esteemed individuals, including former Auditor-General Daniel Domelovo and retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, Investigative Journalist Raymond Archer and Lawyer Martin Kpebu, the ORAL team is poised to make a significant impact. Their efforts will focus on coordinating and gathering evidence to support the recovery of looted state resources, ensuring a seamless collaboration with existing anti-corruption institutions.
