North Dayi NPP boots out youth organizer for supporting NDC

North Dayi, Ghana - October 18, 2024 - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken swift action against one of its own, expelling Addae Bright, a Youth Organizer in the North Dayi constituency, for openly supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Bright's public declaration of support for the NDC's parliamentary candidate, Joycelyn Tetteh, and flagbearer John Mahama, was seen as a direct violation of the NPP's constitution, specifically Article 3(9)(1).

According to the NPP's constitution, any member who joins or supports another political party when the NPP has officially sponsored a candidate automatically forfeits their membership.

The party's North Dayi Constituency Secretary, Baku Emmanuel K., notified all party members of Bright's expulsion on Monday, October 14, and urged them to treat him as a non-member.
