Mahama promises tractor stations for farmers if elected

Kwame Danso, Bono East Region - National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has vowed to establish tractor stations in farming communities nationwide if elected president in the December 7 polls.

Addressing supporters and local farmers in Kwame Danso, Sene West District, during his 2024 campaign tour, Mahama promised to alleviate the struggles farmers face in accessing mechanized support and essential resources.

The proposed tractor stations aim to enhance agricultural productivity and efficiency, ensuring farmers receive the necessary tools to thrive. Mahama's commitment to agricultural development has resonated with local farmers, who eagerly anticipate the implementation of this initiative.

“When the NDC comes to power, all farming communities will receive their share of tractor stations. Sene West will have its own centre, equipped with 10 tractors and everything you need to make farming easier will be available for you to access.

“Farmers will need to form cooperatives and register their names, after which their farmlands will be measured to determine what each has. Once registered, you can go to the tractor stations and receive the assistance you need,” he stated.

As the campaign trail continues, Mahama's focus on agricultural advancement is expected to garner significant support from rural communities.
