Kurt Okraku Leads GFA Delegation to Congratulate Speaker Bagbin on his Re-election
Accra, Ghana - 19 March, 2025 - A high-level delegation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), led by President Kurt Okraku-Mantey, has congratulated Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin on his re-election as Speaker of the 9th Parliament.
The visit aimed to foster collaboration between the GFA and Parliament, promoting the advancement of football in Ghana.
During the meeting, the GFA delegation presented a comprehensive document, "State of Ghana Football," outlining the current state of football in Ghana, its challenges, and proposed solutions. In response, the Speaker pledged his full support for football, recognizing its potential for growth and development.
The Speaker encouraged the GFA to embark on regional tours to identify and nurture young talent, a move aimed at revitalizing Ghana's football landscape.
The meeting was attended by key parliamentary figures, including the Majority Leader, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, and the Minority Leader, Hon. Alexander Afenyo Markin, the Chairman of the Sports Committee of Parliament, Hon. Ernest Norgbey, the Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror; and officials of the Parliamentary Service.
