"Go and vote, we’ll protect your ballot" – Joshua Alabi
The National Democratic Congress's (NDC) 2024 National Campaign Manager, Prof. Joshua Alabi has assured the people of Tamale that the party is committed to defending their votes.
Prof. Alabi is optimistic in the party's ability to gain political power.
However, he stated that this is only achievable if residents turn out to vote.
Speaking at the NDC official campaign launch in Tamale, he noted that Ghana is a democratic country, thus when someone loses an election, they always relinquish political power.
In light of this, he encouraged all NDC supporters not to be afraid of "result tampering."
“These people, they will lose and they will hand over peacefully. If common hotels they handed over peacefully, then what of the main elections.
"So those making noise they will handover and run away. We are assuring everybody here that we are going to protect your vote so go and vote. Be very confident. Go and vote and we shall protect the vote,” he said.
Prof Alabi reiterated to the gathering that the NDC flagbearer is seeking a second term in order to create jobs for the people. He explained that John Mahama's initiatives cover all industries, including apprenticeships.
The Chair of the Campaign Team also highlighted that not everyone wants to attend tertiary institutions, thus the party is committed to developing policies that will benefit individuals in the informal sector as well.
