Ghana’s men’s 4×100 relay team wins gold at African Athletics Championship in Cameroon.
Ghana's 4x100 metres men's relay team won gold at the 23rd African Athletics Championship in Douala, Cameroon, defeating Nigeria in the final.
Fuseini Ibrahim, Isaac Botsio, Edwin Gadayi, and Abdul Rasheed Saminu won Ghana's second gold medal in the African Athletics Championships, defeating Kayinsola Ajayi, Usheoritse Itserkiri, Alaba Akintola, and Godson Brume. "Ghana won gold in 38.6s, Nigeria finished second in 38.84s, and the Ivory Coast got bronze in 39.77s.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian female quartet of Justina Eyakpobeyan, Tima Godbless, Olayinka Oladide, and Tobi Amusan, successfully defended their gold medals by defeating Ghana and Liberia. This victory extended their African Athletics Championships 4x100m relay unbeaten streak, which began in 2018.
