Ghana to face Sudan, Angola and Niger in 2025 AFCON Qualifiers
Ghana will compete in Group F against Sudan, Angola, and Niger for a spot at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The qualifying draw took place, in Johannesburg, South Africa on Thursday [July 4, 2024].
The Black Stars face Sudan, who is presently managed by former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah. The draw will also seek to replicate the 2023 Afcon qualifying series, in which Otto Addo's team faced Angola.
Ghana will also face Niger, who last met in 2013 at the African Cup of Nations.
The qualifiers will kick off in September this year to determine the first 24 nations out of the 48 that will compete in Africa’s biggest event.
The Confederation of African Football has set December 21, 2025, as the start date for the next edition, which will run until January 18, 2026.
