GFA Bans Nsoatreman FC Home Stadium Indefinitely after Violent Clashes

Accra, Ghana - 03 Feb, 2025 - The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Nsoatreman FC and indefinitely banned the Nana Koronamansah Park in response to the violent incidents that marred the match against Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
According to the GFA, an investigation team, led by DCOP Lydia Donkor, Chair of the Security Committee of the GFA, has arrived in Sunyani to probe the incident. The team is working closely with the Regional Police leadership to gather more information and ensure that those responsible for the violence are brought to justice.
In a show of compassion and solidarity, the GFA has visited the bereaved family of the victim, with an ExCo member, Fred Acheampong, leading the delegation. The GFA has also postponed the Ghana Premier League Match day 20 fixtures, pending further discussions with stakeholders.
The GFA has also invited the GPL Club CEOs to a meeting on Thursday, February 6, 2025, to discuss the way forward, and has also called on the leadership of supporters groups of all GPL clubs to meet on Friday, February 7, 2025, to discuss their role in promoting safety and responsible fan behavior. Furthermore, the GFA has partnered with the Police High Command to tackle the criminal aspects of the incident and prevent similar incidents in the future.
