Accra, Ghana - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has named Dr. Tia Abdul-Kabiru Mahama as its parliamentary candidate for the Walewale constituency, following a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Wednesday.

Dr. Mahama's candidacy was confirmed after incumbent MP Lariba Zuweira Abudu withdrew from the contest, paving the way for his sole candidacy.

The NPP has commended Zuweira's decision and called on party members and stakeholders to support Dr. Mahama's bid.

A statement from the party's General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, praised Zuweira's withdrawal and urged unity behind Dr. Mahama's candidacy.

With this endorsement, Dr. Mahama is poised to represent the NPP in the Walewale constituency in the upcoming elections.
