Beach Soccer : Ghana’s Black Sharks qualifies for AFCON after win over Cote d’Ivoire
Ghana's national beach soccer team, the Black sharks, will play in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Cote d'Ivoire in a two-legged match.
The qualification to the main competition comes after a 10-5 aggregate victory over their opponents.
Ghana battled back from a deficit to win 2-5 in the return leg of the fixture on Saturday, July 27, after winning 5-3 at home the week before.
The Ivorians led 2-1 at halftime of the second leg. However, the Black Stars scored four goals in the second half to turn the game around.
Wise Nyamadi equalized after the break, before captain Alex Osah and Precious Torgbor added goals to make it 4-2.
Jude Akile scored the Black Sharks' fifth goal of the day, putting the game out of reach for the Sand Elephants.
