Accra braces for 3-day protest against galamsey, detained activists from Oct 3 -5

Accra, Ghana - A three-day demonstration is set to take place in Accra from October 3 to 5, as activists demand the release of 53 anti-galamsey protesters detained by police last week.

The protest, organized under the slogans "FreeTheCitizens" and "SayNoToGalamsey," also aims to condemn illegal mining, a persistent environmental and social issue in Ghana.

Protest Route:
The march will start from Legon Okponglo and proceed to the Black Star Square, passing through designated routes approved by the police, including:

Thousands of participants are expected to join the demonstration, mobilized through strong social media efforts. The protest seeks to bring attention to the plight of the detained activists and the ongoing fight against galamsey activities nationwide.
