2025 AFCONQ: I'm disappointed, we didn't learn our lesson from home defeat to Angola- Otto Addo
Berkane, Morocco- Ghana's AFCON qualifying campaign is off to a shaky start, with the Black Stars trailing group leaders Angola by five points after just two matches.
A late goal conceded in Monday's 1-1 draw with Niger has left Otto Addo's side with a mountain to climb.
The Ghanaian team's inability to secure a win against the minnows has raised concerns about their defensive capabilities and focus.
Addo has criticized his team's poor defending and lack of concentration, but remains optimistic about their chances in the remaining games.
“I’m disappointed we didn’t learn the lessons from the home defeat to Angola, and we need to do better, for sure,” he said.
“Surely qualification still in our own hands and we can do something about it. We will, however, have to win our remaining games,” he added.
With Angola pulling ahead in the group, Ghana must regroup and improve their performance to stay in contention for a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament.
The Black Stars' next match against Sudan will be a crucial test of their mettle.
