Jubilee House, Accra, Ghana - 14 March, 2025 - In a ceremony marking the transition of leadership in the Ghana Police Service, President John Dramani Mahama has lauded the outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, for his  for his exemplary service to the nation.

At the swearing-in ceremony of COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new IGP on Thursday March 14,  President Mahama acknowledged Dr. Dampare's pivotal role in enhancing law enforcement and national security in Ghana.

The President praised Dr. Dampare's tireless efforts in ensuring public safety and security, highlighting his leadership as a transformative force within the police service.

“Let me take this opportunity to also extend my deepest gratitude to the outgoing IGP. He has served our nation with dedication and commitment, and his contribution to law enforcement and national security will not be forgotten,” President Mahama stated.

As Dr. Dampare departs, President Mahama extended his best wishes for the outgoing IGP's future endeavors, acknowledging the lasting legacy of his leadership in shaping the police service.

“We thank him for his service and we wish him well in his future endeavors,”Mahama added.
