VP Opoku-Agyemang Hosts China's Shenzhen Energy Group

Accra, Ghana - 28 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's Vice-President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has hosted a delegation from the Shenzhen Energy Group, led by Executive President Mr. Ouyang Huiyu.

The meeting focused on expanding the reach of Sunon Asogli Power in Ghana's energy sector, amidst the country's challenges in energy supply.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang expressed gratitude for the group's support, highlighting the importance of Ghana-China bilateral relations. Discussions also centered on training and retraining local staff to enhance capacity and efficiency in energy facilities.

Notably, the Vice-President emphasized the need to support women engineers in the energy sector.

The meeting yielded a positive outcome, with the Chinese delegation agreeing to train Ghanaian women engineers in their facilities. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang assured them of the government's commitment to supporting future project expansions to meet Ghana's growing energy demands.
