Thomas Partey Granted Conditional Bail After Appearing in Court on Rape Charges
Former Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has been granted conditional bail after being charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. He appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Thomas Partey is set to appear at London's Old Bailey court on September 2, 2025, for his next hearing. The 32-year-old Ghana international faces allegations of non-consensual encounters with three women between 2021 and 2022.
As part of his bail conditions, Thomas Partey is prohibited from contacting the three women involved in the case and must notify police of any changes to his home address or international travel plans.
Despite the ongoing case, Thomas Partey is expected to join Spanish top-flight side Villarreal. However, some supporters have voiced objections to the club's pursuit of the Ghanaian given the gravity of the allegations.
Thomas Partey's lawyer has stated that he denies all charges against him and welcomes the opportunity to clear his name.
