Stonebwoy Dropped from Ghana Victory Concert Amidst NDC Grassroots Backlash

Accra, Ghana - 04 Jan, 2025 - In a surprise move, the organizers of the Ghana Victory concert have removed Stonebwoy from the event's lineup, citing concerns from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) grassroots over his inclusion.

The decision comes after the party's base expressed discontent with Stonebwoy's past comments, which were perceived as mocking the NDC during their time in opposition.

The organizers in a statement, have apologized to the NDC members, particularly the grassroots, for the perceived lack of discretion in including Stonebwoy in the lineup.

They have also extended an apology to Stonebwoy and his team for the unfortunate outcome.

''The organisers of the Ghana Victory concert, responding to public sentiment and concerns from the party’s grassroots regarding Stonebwoy's inclusion, have decided to remove the artist from the concert lineup.

''We sincerely apologise to all members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), particularly the grassroots, for what may have appeared to be a lack of discretion on the part of the organizers.

''We also extend out apologies to Stonebwoy and his team for this unfortunate outcome,'' portions of the statement read.

The Ghana Victory concert was intended to celebrate the NDC's success in the 2024 elections. However, the controversy surrounding Stonebwoy's inclusion has led to his removal from the event. The organizers are yet to announce a replacement for the artist.
