South African farm worker says he was forced to feed women to pigs
Adrian de Wet (L) will take the stand against his boss Zachariah Johannes Olivier (R)

A shocking case has unfolded in South Africa's Limpopo province, where three men, including a 20-year-old farm worker, Adrian de Wet, are facing murder charges for allegedly killing two black women and feeding their bodies to pigs.

De Wet has turned state witness and claims he was forced to participate in the gruesome act.

According to lawyers, De Wet alleges that farm owner Zachariah Johannes Olivier shot and killed Maria Makgato, 45, and Lucia Ndlovu, 34, while they were searching for food on the farm. The women were allegedly looking for soon-to-expire dairy products left for pigs. De Wet claims he was under duress when he was forced to throw the bodies into the pig enclosure.

The trial began on Monday, with De Wet set to testify against the other two accused, Olivier and William Musora, a 50-year-old farm worker. If the court accepts De Wet's testimony, all charges against him will be dropped. The case has sparked widespread outrage and racial tensions in South Africa, highlighting the country's ongoing struggles with racism and inequality.

The case has also drawn attention to the complex issues surrounding racism, inequality, and farm labor in South Africa. The Economic Freedom Fighters, an opposition party, has previously called for the farm to be shut down. The trial was postponed to next week, with supporters and relatives of the victims packing the Limpopo High Court.
