Seidu Agongo Supports 'MahamaCares' Initiative with GHS500K
Accra, Ghana - 30 April, 2025 - Prominent Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist Alhaji Seidu Agongo has pledged GHS500,000 to the 'Mahama Cares' initiative, a program launched by former President John Mahama to provide affordable healthcare to vulnerable communities.
Agongo's donation is part of a broader effort to address social challenges in Ghana, following his previous philanthropic endeavors, including funding a pediatric emergency block at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and paying hospital bills for new mothers.
At the launch event in Accra, Agongo emphasized the responsibility of business leaders to support initiatives that impact ordinary Ghanaians. He praised President Mahama's decision to donate six months' salary to the initiative, calling it a gesture that should motivate others to contribute.
The 'Mahama Cares' initiative aims to provide direct support to vulnerable households through food assistance, healthcare access, educational support, and skills development programs nationwide.
