Ridge Hospital Responds to Viral Video Showing Staff Confrontation  

Accra ,Ghana – August 18 ,2025 - The Greater Accra Regional Hospital, popularly known as Ridge Hospital, has released a fierce statement addressing a viral social media video depicting a confrontation between its emergency ward staff and a group, including a prominent social media activist. 

The incident arose when clinicians were handling multiple emergencies, resulting in alleged delays in treating a critically injured patient.

According to the hospital's statement, the situation escalated into verbal aggression and the assault of a nurse, prompting hospital management to call in the Ghana Police Service to restore order. The hospital has acknowledged the incident and is taking steps to address the issues raised.

In an official statement signed by Head of Public Relations Juliana Hariwa, the hospital explained that its clinicians were managing multiple emergencies at the time of the incident. The hospital has assured the public that it is committed to providing quality healthcare services and will not tolerate any form of violence or aggression against its staff.
