Posterity will judge my performance - Akufo-Addo
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed pride in his government's achievements, citing transformative initiatives and economic progress that have elevated the nation.
Speaking at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana's Bicentennial Anniversary launch at Osu Castle, he highlighted significant social interventions in health, education, and energy sectors that have improved citizens' quality of life.
The outgoing President is confident that future generations will appreciate his legacy, acknowledging the support of the Ghanaian people and God's guidance. He emphasized his government's commitment to good governance, economic development, and promoting a strong foundation for progress and prosperity.
Akufo-Addo also praised the Presbyterian Church of Ghana for its contributions to the nation's development over the past 200 years. He acknowledged the church's vital role in supporting his administration, citing the impact of the gospel on the moral fibre of the Ghanaian people.
In his remarks, the President drew inspiration from his Christian faith, expressing gratitude for the church's prayers and encouragement throughout his tenure. He concluded by emphasizing his commitment to national transformation and progress.
“I speak to you proud of the achievements my government has chalked under God’s guidance and the support of our people. From transformative policies in education, health, industry, infrastructure and agriculture, to the promotion of good governance and economic development,'' he stated.
“I’m confident in all humility, prosperity will judge well the Akufo-Addo government’s performance. Future generations will look back on this era and say that we laid a strong foundation for progress and prosperity.”
“The impact of the gospel is not only seen in schools and hospitals but in the moral fibre of our people. As President, I have often drawn strength and wisdom from the word of God…Throughout my tenure of office, the Presbyterian Church has been a steadfast partner praying for me, encouraging me and supporting my government’s vision of national transformation, for this I’m deeply grateful.
“Your prayers have sustained me and your faith has inspired me to persevere even in the most challenging times,'' he added.
