Police Nab Two Additional Suspects Over Kotoko-Nsoatreman Match Chaos
Francis Yaw 'Nana Pooley' Frimpong, a 35-year-old devoted Asante Kotoko fan, was allegedly stabbed to death by a rival supporter during the chaos.

Accra, Ghana - 05 Feb, 2025 - Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the violent clashes that erupted during a football match between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC, Ghanaian police say.

Isaac Ofosu and Yeboah Augustine are currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations. The total number of suspects detained now stands at five.

The violence, which occurred on February 2, 2025, resulted in the death of an Asante Kotoko supporter, Francis Yaw 'Nana Pooley' Frimpong. The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that intelligence-led operations are underway to apprehend all those responsible.

The authorities in a statement, have urged calm as investigations continue, reaffirming their commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice.
