Police Nab 19 Suspects in Major Drug Trafficking and Robbery Operation in Kasoa

Kasoa, Central Region, Ghana - 14 June, 2025 - Ghanaian police have launched a major crackdown on illicit drug trafficking and robbery in the Central Region, arresting 19 suspects in a special operation.
According to a statement from the police, the suspects, picked up on Thursday, June 12, 2025, are believed to be involved in a network of criminal activity in the Kasoa Dominase area and the Onion Market.
The police operation resulted in the seizure of substances suspected to be Indian hemp, as well as controlled pharmaceutical drugs such as Tramadol and Red. The suspects, who are currently in police custody, are assisting with the investigation and are expected to face charges in court soon.
The suspects include; Abubakari Ibrahim, Mohammed Awal, Shafiu Salisu, Hamza Amadu, All Adamu, Balhani Fuseini, Jamal Haruna, Zakari Abdulai, Abdul Aziz, Bera Kalidu, Moro Baki, Anthony Lucky, Razak Yussif, Sumani Issah, Sulley Mohammed, Abdul Salifu, Eliasu Bukari, Kamelo Muuk and Osumanu Amadu.
The Central East Regional Police Command has praised the personnel involved in the operation and encouraged them to continue their efforts to combat crime. The police are also appealing to the public to provide information that can help them tackle the menace of illicit drug trade and robbery in the communities.
The operation is part of the police's ongoing efforts to maintain a safer environment and protect citizens from the harmful effects of substance abuse and criminal activity.
The police command has assured the public that they will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that those involved in such activities are brought to justice.
