Opinion: Mr. Deputy Attorney General, Stop Misinforming the Public - A Letter to Justice Sai
Justice Srem-Sai is the Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice

Dear Justice Sai!

Stop betraying your ignorance on what really happened when the Jakpa-led NIB team forcibly entered the premises of Dr. Ernest Addison under the guise of gathering information.

It is shocking that you have decided to propagate this falsehood when the facts are completely poles apart from your invented rendition.

Do you know the first question Jakpa asked Dr. Addison upon their entry into his house? Richard Jakpa asked Addison to show him the vault where the money was being kept, and once he does that, they’d let things be quiet and slide.

Dr. Addison was emphatic about his response to Jakpa. He told them he had no vault in his house.

Jakpa and his team started searching every room, and for reasons quite obvious to them and all of us, they asked for his CCTV monitor which they were shown.

Let me state without any equivocation that Dr. Addison had no lawyers in his house and when he insisted on being allowed to invite his lawyers, they flatly refused.

He demanded for the search warrant from Jakpa, he (Jakpa) said he was in possession of the search warrant but never showed it to him even though Addison insisted on it.

If indeed the Jakpa-led team you sent was on a lawful mission, why did Jakpa place a call to the National Security Coordinator whom wanted to speak to Addison?

In fact, the National Security Coordinator apologized to Dr. Addison for what had happened? If indeed the operation was lawful, why would the National Security Coordinator apologize for what had transpired?

Let me remind you of what people and other government’s communicators said as the reason for the raid.

You said that the man had linked his phones to the CCTV cameras at the Bank of Ghana where he was monitoring movements and all the other activities going on at the premises.

That information you people put out there was a complete fabrication. You stormed his house thinking that he had some huge sums of  monies stashed away in some vaults, and when you found no such evidence, you went out there to tell lies about him.

The earrings and necklaces of the Governor’s wife and the GHc10,000 were indeed stolen by the NIB operatives sent by you people.

Dr. Addison has not also denied that your men stole his money and earrings and necklaces belonging to the wife. You cannot explain those dastardly acts away by accusing someone of disclosing to us what actually happened.

If you have nothing better to write about on social media, then stop disturbing us with such needless posts.
