NDC calls on supporters to leave collation centres
Ghana's opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged its supporters to stand down and return home, trusting the party's leadership to navigate the remaining stages of the electoral process.
This call to action comes as tensions simmer at the Accra regional collation centre, where a dispute between the presiding officer and members of the NDC and New Patriotic Party (NPP) has delayed the declaration of results for the Ablekuma North constituency.
In a statement released on Dec 10 and signed by the party's General secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC praised its members and agents for their dedication to monitoring the collation process, and assured them that the party's leadership is committed to ensuring a transparent and efficient conclusion to the electoral process.
