My government will not tolerate arrogance or disrespect toward Ghanaians - Mahama cautions Appointees
Accra, Ghana - 22 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama has called on his newly appointed ministers to prioritize humility, tolerance, and respect in their interactions with the public.
This emphasis on people-centered governance comes as the President seeks to address growing citizen dissatisfaction with officials who display arrogance or disregard public concerns.
At the swearing-in ceremony of six new ministers, President Mahama reiterated his administration's commitment to meeting the high expectations of Ghanaian citizens. He stressed that effective governance requires humility, respect, and a willingness to listen to the people.
“Our conduct must reflect humility and an unwavering respect for the people we serve,” President Mahama stated.
“This government will not tolerate arrogance or disrespect toward Ghanaians, who have placed their trust in us to deliver.”
The President also tasked his Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, with tackling pressing economic challenges, including inflation, unemployment, and infrastructure deficits. President Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to accountability and inclusivity, ensuring that government policies and actions reflect the needs and aspirations of all Ghanaians.
“We must remain steadfast in our mission to serve, ensuring that our policies and actions reflect the needs and aspirations of every Ghanaian,'' he added.
