Accra, Ghana - Dec 27, 2024 - Ghana's Supreme Court is deliberating on a high-stakes application filed by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), seeking a judicial review of a contentious High Court ruling.

The dispute centers on the Electoral Commission's (EC) re-collation of parliamentary election results in nine constituencies, where the outcome was hotly contested.

The NDC is challenging the High Court's decision to re-collate the results, which was prompted by a mandamus application from New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidates in the affected areas. The opposition party argues that the re-collation process is flawed and may have far-reaching implications for the country's electoral landscape.
