IMF Kicks Off Fourth Review Mission in Ghana Amid Economic Reforms
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson is Ghana's Finance Minister

Accra, Ghana - 02 April, 2025 - Ghana's economic progress is under scrutiny as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) launches its fourth review mission, a crucial assessment that will determine the country's eligibility for further financial support.

The two-week mission, which commenced on April 2, will evaluate Ghana's economic performance, structural reforms, and progress toward meeting IMF targets, including fiscal discipline and debt restructuring.

The IMF delegation will engage with senior government officials, the Central Bank, and other stakeholders to assess key economic indicators, such as inflation control, monetary policy, and structural reforms.

Ghana's Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, reaffirmed the government's dedication to implementing economic reforms. This commitment is highlighted by the passage of groundbreaking tax amendment bills and public procurement reforms.

The success of these reforms is crucial, as it will determine Ghana's eligibility for the next installment of IMF financial support - a vital component in maintaining the country's macroeconomic stability.

Ghana's economy has shown positive trends, and the government is confident that it can stabilize by May 2025.

The final statement from the IMF is expected on April 15.
