Ghana Waives Visa Requirements for Four Countries to Boost Trade and Tourism

Accra, Ghana – 24 July, 2025 - The Parliament of Ghana has approved the ratification of agreements to waive visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, service, and ordinary passports to four countries: Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe, Colombia, and the Commonwealth of Dominica. This move aims to strengthen multilateral partnerships and enhance cooperation in key areas such as education, energy, trade, tourism, and agriculture.

The visa waiver agreements seek to foster greater collaboration and exchange between Ghana and the four countries, driving long-term socio-economic benefits.

By eliminating visa requirements, the agreements are expected to increase trade, tourism, and cultural exchange, contributing to the growth and development of the countries involved.

The policy is anticipated to help strengthen diplomatic relations between Ghana and the beneficiary countries, promoting mutual understanding and cooperation.

According to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, no immediate or direct revenue losses are expected from the implementation of the agreements. Instead, the visa waiver arrangements are anticipated to yield long-term benefits for the countries involved.

According to the Mminister ,the current development is a significant step towards enhancing global connectivity and promoting international cooperation.
