Accra, Ghana - 6 July, 2025 - Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has been appointed to a key role in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) organization. Okraku will head CAF's Organizing Committee for Inter-Club Competitions and Management of the Club Licensing System, overseeing the strategic direction of CAF's premier inter-club competitions, including the Champions League and the Confederation Cup.

This appointment, confirmed on April 26, 2025, by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe during a press conference in Accra, marks a significant milestone in Okraku's football administration career. As the head of the Organizing Committee, Okraku will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of CAF's flagship club competitions, working closely with member associations, clubs, and stakeholders.

In addition to his role in inter-club competitions, Okraku will also oversee the development of the Club Licensing System across Africa. This system aims to promote good governance, transparency, and sporting integrity in African club football, aligning with globally accepted standards.

Okraku's appointment is seen as a boost to Ghanaian football, recognizing his leadership skills and experience in football administration. As GFA President, Okraku has been instrumental in promoting Ghanaian football, and his new role will undoubtedly have a positive impact on African football as a whole.

Okraku joins CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and other key officials in shaping the future of African football. Faouzi Lekjaa will serve as the First Vice President, replacing Augustine Senghor, while Okraku takes over from Ahmed Yahya.
