Fair Wages Commission appeals to CLOGSAG to call off strike
Accra, Ghana - Nov 5, 2024 - The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has appealed to the Civil and Local Governance Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) to reconsider its planned strike, scheduled for November 7.
CLOGSAG, representing civil and local government workers, cites frustration over delayed salary structure implementation.
FWSC emphasized the government's commitment to resolving the dispute, urging CLOGSAG to halt the strike and return to negotiations. "The government is prepared to engage CLOGSAG in finding lasting solutions without undermining the Single Spine Pay Policy," the commission stated.
CLOGSAG announced on November 4, 2024, that the strike due to unimplemented salary adjustments agreed upon over a year and a half ago.
